VACCINATION AND TRUSTING THE FUTURE
Although there are complications and delays in vaccination, the purchase of more than 560 million doses by the Ministry of Health is good news and indicates that the country is unified understanding that this is the way to overcome the current health crisis.
Therefore, we must look to the future with confidence. Considering the more pessimistic forecasts, by the second semester we may have more than 50% of the population vaccinated and in the first quarter of 2022, we should have close to 100%. If this scenario, in fact, is confirmed we will focus closely on the recovery of the economy.
In the meantime, it is up to us in the industry to indicate to the government that we are in the same page and together we can move forward more quickly and effectively. Measures to stimulate the economy, such as emergency aid, as well as programs to preserve jobs, are essential now. It is important to move forward in structured agendas, seeking simplification and if possible, the reduction of the tax burden, nonetheless without neglecting regional development policies.
Despite of a slightly more challenging economic moment, the positive surprise factor, which last year was emergency aid, in 2021, is the vaccine.
Thus, this set of initiatives coupled with vaccination will take us to another level, and, consequently, we will take care of fulfilling the forecast of 3,5% GDP growth or even going beyond that.
