SUFRAMA – Consumer electronics and home appliances boosts the Manaus Industrial Park (PIM)
The Industrial Park of Manaus (PIM) obtained revenues of BRL 26.38 billion in the first quarter of this year, which indicates growth of 7.4% compared to the same period last year. The workforce of the PIM also showed a positive variation, registering, in March, a total of 91,702 workers, among full-time, temporary and outsourced workers, with a growth of 5.86% compared to March 2019.
The computer goods sector of the Polo Eletroeletrônico – with sales of BRL 5.98 billion and growth of 10.1% compared to the same period in 2019 – was one of the segments that contributed the most to the rising numbers of the PIM in the first quarter. It stands out, mainly, the increase in the production of representative items, such as notebooks (125,917 units manufactured and growth 22.64%) and tablets (144,129 units produced and increased 3.39%).
Suframa evaluates that the first quarter indicators are positive, mainly because they show favorable data of invoicing, production and employability in a period when the first affects of the Covid-19 pandemic were already felt.
Subsequent months are expected to bring more discreet and challenging indicators, but still the celebration of the first quarter result is valid, since an average of over 90,000 direct jobs were generated and gains in production and sales were observed in several strategic segments.
