Global Sources consumer electronics – April 2019 Edition – Product exhibition and tasting
Over 3,900 exhibitors presented their electronic products last April at Global Sources Consumer Electronics at Asia-World-Expo in Hong Kong. Once again, artificial intelligence showed its importance in the most diverse electronics, in advanced navigation systems and in security devices for the intelligent home. The segment of computers and accessories, including those exclusively aimed at the gamer public, also deserved a lot of space at the event.
This year’s edition featured a new area, previously unprecedented at an Asia fair, as the Global Sources Electronics Group president, Tommy Wong, says. “In response to the demand of the audio production market, we set up the first and only Audio Sourcing Hall of Asia, with more than 500 booths. To create the new space, we have partnered with the China Audio Industries Association (CAIA) and the High Resolution Wireless Audio Union. The goal was to establish a complete ecosystem and make the space mandatory for the audio industry.”
Taking into account the fair’s condition of being the first and only in Asia to have a large part of its area for audio products, the exhibitors presented a diversified and very technological portfolio. Among the items, professional equipment, stereos, speakers, headphones, home theaters and wireless speakers. Visitors have tried out products with the latest audio technologies from Huawei, BES, SoundAI and GCEC.
Interactivity
As traditionally, Global Sources is divided into areas of demonstration and product experience and attracts thousands of buyers from more than 150 countries, including the world’s 100 largest retailers. Since 2006, it has been committed to being an ecological and sustainable fair.
This year, the smart house pavilion presented many innovations. Products that were compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Tuya and Zigbee, were exposed with a new biometric and smart block zone. Visitors were able to experiment the products at first hand.
Another area of experimentation was personal transportation. In this space, visitors tested new models of hoverboards and bicycles. The component segment also held an item demonstration area for the automotive, industrial, robotics and security sectors. The space was attended by the association of manufacturers of electrical and electronic products of Taiwan. Highlights
