Premium televisions: immersion, connectivity and entertainment
By Dilnara Titara
The investment in premium televisions has been gaining ground in the national market, especially in the last year, when staying more at home became a necessity. As a result, the demand for devices with advanced technology increased. “The advantages of investing in a premium TV are the audio and video quality and the most powerful processor,” says Cristiane Clausen, Britânia’s executive director.
“We are going through a time when people are spending more time inside their homes and looking for technologies to make their routine smarter and with more entertainment options,” comments Fabio Campanha, product manager for Panasonic’s TV & Home Theater line.
Modernizing home equipment is a necessity, says João Rezende, head of product marketing at SEMP TCL. “With the pandemic, consumers are updating products. The TV room became the entertainment point. A television that can reproduce the technologies used in movie theaters about screen size, resolution, brightness and audio is what the Brazilian consumers desire.”
Good expectations
The Mothers’ Days is marked on the calendar as one of the most important dates for sales of premium products. “This year, it will be no different. In the last few months, television has again become a major player in the home, and many people are waiting for seasonal dates to get the best offers,” says Eduardo Brunoro, general director of the TPV Group (Philips and AOC).
From January to December 2020, sales of thin-screen TVs increased by 16%, the number of units sold increased by 1%, and the price rose by 15%.
“There is a growing demand for premium TVs, and throughout the year, several dates contribute to sales. Mother’s Day is undoubtedly one of the most important, especially in the first semester. We are optimistic about the sales performance”, says Guilherme Campos, senior product manager for the TV and audio areas at Samsung Brazil.
The category has been growing and should continue in the same pace in 2021, including positive numbers on Mother’s Day. “This date is the second most important date for the sale of televisions in the year and symbolizes a strategic moment for the brand”, says Pedro Valery, responsible for televisions at LG Electronics of Brazil.
Innovation in the sector
Britânia and Philco
For this date, Britânia launches 4K UHD LED Smart TVs. The devices combine cutting-edge technology with an operating system that optimize the user experience. They have Ultra HD resolution and Dolby audio for more vivid and bright colors and cinema-quality sound for the living room.
Philco launches Fast Smart TV, with Roku TV. The 50” model is part of the brand’s new generation of TVs. It has 50% faster processing speed. Its great differential is the Roku operating system, with an uncomplicated interface and a multichannel intelligent search system. It has more than 100 thousand films and TV episodes and automatic system updates.
Grupo TPV
With the brand AOC, it offers the market the 50U6305 model, equipped with the latest technologies, such as Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. It has 4K screen with HDR10 +, design with ultra-thin edges and silver finish. It provides great cost benefit, highlights the company.
From the Philips brand, the suggestion is the premium category. With exclusive technology, which is the main differential of the brand.
Philips Ambilight 6794 has LEDs located on the back of the TV, syncs with the image, which projects on the wall the lights and colors displayed on the screen, providing great engagement to the consumer. It features Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and 4K screen with HIDRO10+.
LG
The 2020 OLED line is the highlight of the brand. It consists of three screen options in the CX category. The innovative GX model allows installation on the wall, turning the TV into a work of art. The pixel technology in OLED screens, which are self-illuminating, guarantees pure black and infinite contrast, making it possible to create thin and malleable panels due to the absence of the rear backlight layer.
The new models feature an Alpha 9 Gen 3 AI processor, which uses deep learning and artificial intelligence to increase image and sound quality. They also offer interaction with personal assistants, such as Google Assistant and Alexa, and access to the ThinQ AI platform. It is also possible to control the TV via the Apple Home Kit and Alexa and make hands-free voice commands on our device from the GX series, eliminating the remote control.
Panasonic
The recently launched 50” and 55” HX550 TV models are the company’s suggestion for Mother’s Day. The devices are the first with Android TV system and Google Assistant with Panasonic image quality.
In HX TV models, the consumer experiences a cinema experience at home, with all the benefits of the intelligence of the Android TV system and Google Assistant. It allows the user to navigate through the voice command to access applications, watch movies and series, change channels, adjust the volume, and automate the home.
Samsung
The brand’s bet for Mother’s Day is The Frame, which is part of the Lifestyle line. The televisions, in the 43” and 55” versions, have the differential of becoming a work of art when turned off. Art Mode transforms the TV screen into a frame, and the consumer can choose one of the 20 pre-shipped works from the Samsung Collection or subscribe to the Art Store and access more than 1,200 works of art and photographs.
In terms of design, the consumer can buy customizable frames for television. The support in the gap makes it a minimum distance from the wall. The single connection ensures that a thin and almost transparent wire connects the TV to the other devices in the house. The Frame has QLED quality and 4K resolution with 100% color volume.
SEMP TCL
The TCL QLED TV 4K C715, with 55” and 65”, has HDR Dolby Vision image support, immersive audio system and hands-free voice control. It has Android TV as a platform, Google Assistant and access to the main streaming services. In addition to ‘Globo Play’ already on board. Another TV, the TCL QLED 8K X915 has screen technology with approximately 100% ultra-high color scale and 8K resolution with 33 million pixels. For non-8K content, the TV’s AI 8K Upscalling technology automatically optimizes each pixel. It has Local Dimming technologies for light control, HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision, and IMAX Enhanced certification. The built-in pop-up camera allows video conferencing. Uses artificial intelligence for personalized functions and controls devices compatible with Google Home. Compatible with Alexa, can be integrated with Amazon Echo control.
