IFA Berlin confirms its edition in September 2020
IFA 2020 is confirmed to take place in Berlin from September 03 to 05, as stated the executive director Jens Heithecker at an online press conference held on Tuesday (19.05), with limited circulation for 1,000 people per day.
As a result of COVID-19 and “after all these event cancellations in the last few months, our sector urgently needs a platform where it can present its innovation. The recovery of our industry starts here, at IFA Berlin”, says Jens Heithecker.

The new restricted format of the event should bring greater security, focusing only on a B2B platform for new technologies and home appliances, where industry and retail can meet and present their news and demands, and also count on the direct presence of the media during the three days.
Measures will be taken to ensure that guests and the press are more secure at the fair. The press room will be larger so that there is a safe distance between professionals. “All safety measures will be taken, such as the use of masks, alcohol gel and, if necessary, the use of body thermometers”, adds Jens.
The Executive Director of the fair expects that by September many countries will have closed their confinements and the health situation will be much better. IFA 2020 will not be open to the public, but only to guests.
