Buying a wine cellar is the first step for those who want to enter in the universe of wine. It is the product that stores the drink properly and at the same time is elegant and sophisticated. Father’s Day, in turn, is a significant opportunity for retailers to expand their profit margins. Certainly, every father wants a cellar.
The growth in wine consumption in Brazil has been 36% in the last 13 years, according to an article published by Wine Intelligence consultancy, says Gabriel Barbieri Silva, marketing director of Whirlpool Corporation, owner of Brastemp and Consul brands. “The appreciation of the drink is part of several moments of Brazilians, with this growing demand for wine fridges that contribute to better conservation of bottles. They are an excellent gift option; we have good sales expectations for the date.”
Seasonal dates stimulate the winery market, especially on Father’s Day, says Emerson Wojcik, white line commercial director at Philips. “The date is important for the home appliance industry; this product line is one of the most sought after. In addition to the Brazilian’s appreciation for wine, wine coolers are a trend in new decoration projects. We believe that in 2024, we will have sales growth of close to 20% compared to the same period in 2022.”
With the right storage, the wine retains its essence, and the cellars provide a great experience, says Frederico Muzzi, category manager at Electrolux. “Because it is a premium product, which pleases all tastes, the winery will have a great demand for the date of the parents. Our sales expectations are high for the product, with reinforcement of stocks to meet the demand.”
Influence of the retail
Simone Camargo, marketing director at Midea Carrier, highlights the influence of retail on purchasing decisions. “In physical stores, the seller interacts directly with the consumer, while on websites, the product should be presented in a clear and complete manner, addressing the main questions of customers during the purchase journey. Some prefer the tasting experience and support of an expert, while others opt for the convenience of online shopping, taking advantage of reviews from other consumers.”
Ensuring wine cellar options in different price ranges is also essential to meet the diverse needs and preferences of consumers. The date and exposure of the product in retail bring increased sales in this category, says Mauricio Mota, national sales manager at EOS. “We expect to increase our sales of climate wine fridges by 30% this year, with the expansion of the portfolio and shares with resellers.”
“Retail plays a key role in sales as it is the link between industry and consumers,” said Marina A. Heinzen, marketing manager at Suggar, who expects sales growth above 20% compared to last year. Engaging shopping experiences such as tastings or workshops can also attract potential customers and encourage them to purchase. Take a look at the wine fridges for Father’s Day.
