It doesn’t matter if in the urban cities, on trail land or in the countryside. The fact is that pleasure of cycling is increasingly and has captivated Brazilians of any age and, for adventurous fathers, this is a great gift on their special day.

Whether to escape everyday life, the stress of urban life, or just to enjoy yourself. On the city’s avenue cycle paths or on trips alone, accompanied or even on excursions, the fact is that cycling has been a joy for many, especially cycling enthusiasts. For these reasons, and many others, bike manufacturers have increasingly improved their products.
“With the growing search for better quality of life, health and care for the environment, the bike market has become increasingly heated, and the public is opting for versatile products that tackle all types of soils, such as our Aventura line. On all commemorative dates, the market sees greater demand for bikes, especially mountain lines, for their versatility. The average increase in sales at times like Father’s Day is around 10%. This year, we expect to reach 12%,” says Adilson Custódio, commercial director at Houston.
The data show significant growth in the production of mountain bikes, says João Paulo Argeri, commercial director at TK3-Track. Most people who started cycling in recent years seek a versatile product, that is, that meets their needs at work, leisure, in the countryside and on light trails. “This is the current profile of the Brazilian cyclist. And because it is a product that is highly sought after by the male public, the bicycle fully meets the event dedicated to parents. The company’s expectations are always growing over previous years.”
MTB growth
The category also grows due to peculiarities of the country. “It is interesting to note that the mountain bike (MTB), originally designed for trails, has gained popularity due to the various variations of floors present in our cities, such as cobblestones, asphalt, holes and dirt roads in intercity connections. “Although not specifically designed for urban use, it has proved to be the most suitable option for Brazilians for offering comfort due to its suspension. The bike has always been a popular gift option in Brazil, it is part of the culture of the country,” says Kleber Cincea, director at KSW Bikes.
In the 1970s, mountain biking emerged in the United States and, like any American dream, gained production scale in the 1980s and became popular, recalls Iuri Kindler, marketing coordinator at Free Action. “In the Brazilian market, it arrived in the 1990s, bringing a change in behavior among bicycle passionate. And it remains in evidence, as it is considered a wild card in the cycling environment because it is ready for different terrain, whether on asphalt, land, or field. In climbs and downs, it also gains the lead in performance. Father’s Day is relevant for the bicycle market. Sales can double.”
For Marcos Ribeiro, product director at Caloi, the bicycle in Brazil is an expensive product when compared with the purchasing power of a large part of the population and, therefore, rare are the times when a consumer has more than one bicycle. “With this, mountain biking becomes the most hybrid model for our market, being used for locomotion in large cities, in physical exercise practices and even in competitions.”
Suggestions for Father’s Day
CALOI
The company indicates the Caloi 29, with aluminum front suspension and 24-speed transmission. Another model, the Atacama, has an aluminum frame, 22 gears and Shimano components. Both are equipped with hydraulic disc brakes for safety and better braking.
The two products are intended for light sports practices, such as walks in the park, and for those who will start on mountain biking. “The commemorative dates become a good time for sales, but the post-pandemic market is still retracted,” says Marcos Ribeiro.

FREE ACTION
It highlights the Free Action Flexus 3.1 models. They are MTB (mountain bike) bikes, best performance for daily use or for those who want to start cycling. The 29-rim bike has a 17″ aluminum frame, with internal cabling, Shimano Tourney rear and center gears and 21 speeds. It features Shimano EZ Fire quick-fire changers, saddle and wheel locking, and fork suspension. It weighs 15 kg, being indicated for those who are over 1.50 m tall.

KSW BIKES
It indicates two models of the brand. The XLT 100 24V bike is for fathers who are starting out in sport or who want to ride with their children in parks and bike paths. With its aluminum frame (6061) T4 and T6, it provides safety and lightness on the pedal. It also features disc brake and is presented in various colors.
For parents who want something more sophisticated, recommend the XLT 400 27V bike, equipped with Shimano gearboxes. It is considered an intermediate model, with built-in cabling and reinforced structure, which allows its use on trails and in cities. “We have products for different types of cyclists, from beginners to the most advanced,” says Kleber Cincea.
