BUEYRS AT ES 2023: SEARCH FOR NOVELTIES
Trends, new technologies, networking and better purchasing conditions were the points highlighted by buyers at ES.
The news in the home appliance sector for this semester, presented at the 16th Eletrolar Show, attracted buyers present at the event. The face-to-face meeting between industry and retail narrowed commercial relations, generated better business conditions, and pointed to great expectations for the coming months, which have two strong sales dates, Black Friday and Christmas.
All categories were represented at the fair. Among them, products for the gamer universe, items to make the home smarter, state-of-the-art televisions with a size greater than 90”, home appliances equipped with new technologies, washers and dryers, stoves and cooktops, solar panels, accessories for cell phones and housewares.
For 15 years, Maiquel Jaquiel Ludwig, buyer at Havan chain, headquartered in Santa Catarina, visits the Eletrolar Show. “It is an opportunity to learn about products, trends, and new markets. The products that most caught my attention were those with artificial intelligence onboard due to the practicality they provide. I believe it is a trend this semester, as technology is increasingly present in people’s daily lives.”
Products from all categories
Antônio Jorge Jesus, buyer at Comercial São Luiz, in Bahia, went to the fair in search of small appliances, accessories and technology. “We look for items that provide more quality of life, those that are part of everyday life. Telephone accessories are winning the market, but I cannot fail to mention electric deep fryers, a category with increasing sales.”
“The Eletrolar Show is excellent for getting to know the launches and having direct contact with the supplier. The fair gives us more confidence to buy a product. I came in search of small appliances. I believe that the white line is a trend this semester, it is the category that sells the most”, said Carlos Zorzaneli, buyer at Mercantil Eletrosom, from Espírito Santo.
Also, from Espírito Santo, the retailer Dalla Home Center was at the fair in search of ventilation products and household appliances, said the buyer Pricila Venâncio Rossi. “The first ones sell a lot in our region, and, with the forecast of El Niño, we are going to bet heavily on fans, mainly on ceiling models. In the case of home appliances, they sell quickly.”
Connectivity is the trend
The connectivity shown in the Smart Home caught the attention of retailers. “We bet that products with connectivity will be the trend in the second half. I also looked for gamer peripherals, sound, and smartphones”, said Emily dos Santos, buyer at Star Case, from Joinville (SC), who visited the fair for the first time.
Small appliances and housewares products were the target of Paulo Sérgio, from KN Comércio, located in Espírito Santo. “I looked for news in these categories and, mainly, opportunities to take something new in the pay pick your small appliance immediately. Fans are the trend for our region this semester.”
A success a few years ago, electric fryers are still on the rise due to the convenience they offer and the healthier way to prepare food. I came to the fair to see the products in person and look for new items in the lines of home appliances, personal care, and kitchenware”, said Khalil Mohamed, representative at Grupo Electrobras Paraguay.
The gamer market, in turn, knows no crisis, said buyers. Therefore, sales will be good at the end of the year. They will, however, have competition from other products, depending on the country’s region.”, said Jorge Luiz Chamon, from the Cachoeira Eletro retail chain, in Espírito Santo.
Advantages of the fair
The fair makes a wide contribution for buyers to exercise their profession. “The Eletrolar Show presents releases, news, brings breadth to assess how we will face the market, in addition to opportunities. We, who are regional, managed to do business at the fair, develop new suppliers, distributors, and contacts”, said Felipe Martins Neto, buyer at Angeloni, which operates in Paraná and Santa Catarina.
The Grupo Newsan came straight from Argentina to the fair in search of white line, kitchen, and small appliance products. “We look for products here in Brazil because the quality is very good and there are competitive suppliers. At Eletrolar Show, we were able to arrange meetings with them and we got to know the novelties”, said Rafael Vieyra, general director of the group.
For the buyer Diego Albino, from Lojas Donna, Santa Catarina, active in the gamer segment, the fair is cost-effective due to the direct contact with suppliers and the variety of products. “It’s where we find trends in electronics and at an ideal time, when we prepare for the biggest sales period. The last three months of the year mark the peak of our sales.”
With the objective of finding consumer goods, Ronaldo Moreira, from Moreira Finestore, a retailer in Espírito Santo, went to the fair, as there is a high demand for white line products in the market in which he operates. “The Eletrolar Show is the ideal place to find everything the industry will announce for the segment. The fair presented trends and a look to the near future. The best manufacturers were there, and we had the opportunity to have direct contact with them.”
