HEATING UP AND OPTIMISM IN THE ELECTRONICS SEGMENT OF THE MANAUS INDUSTRIAL POLE
From January to September 2024, the electronics segment, including information technology goods, of the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM) recorded a turnover of BRL 62.19 billion, an increase of 7.44% compared to the BRL 57.89 billion recorded in the same period of 2023. These figures, consolidated monthly by Suframa, demonstrate a recovery of this sector, which accounts for 41.16% of the total turnover of the PIM, confirming its strategic importance for the regional and national economy.
Among the products that drove this growth are televisions with LCD and OLED screens, which added up to more than 11 million units manufactured, an increase of 13% compared to the months of January to September of the previous year. Other highlights include microwaves, which grew 47%, totaling 4.1 million units produced, and split system air conditioners, with 4.3 million units and an increase of 58.11%.
Currently, the electronics segment directly employs 45,011 workers, including permanent, temporary, and outsourced employees, representing an increase of 7.83% compared to 2023. This advance reflects the stimulus measures of the federal government, which have created a favorable environment for industrial growth and job creation. The incentive measures for the national economy have been decisive, since more than 90% of the PIM’s production is aimed at the Brazilian market.
For the end of 2024, the expectation is optimistic, with projections of new revenue records. With these indicators, the PIM reinforces its position of prominence in the Brazilian industrial scenario, contributing significantly to the country’s economy.
