The Importance of the Polo Eletroeletrônico (Electronics Hub) for the Manaus Free Trade Zone and Brazil
Of the BRL 114.19 billion in revenue generated by the Manaus Industrial Hub (PIM) between January and July this year, approximately BRL 47 billion — or 41% of the total — came from the manufacturing of IT goods and electronics in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. These companies were also responsible for creating 44,441 direct jobs during the same period, representing the highest monthly employment average among all PIM sub-sectors.
These indicators highlight the significant importance of the Polo Eletroeletrônico (including IT products) for both regional and national industries. Comprising multinational companies and highly competitive firms, this segment is directly responsible for producing essential products used by Brazilians in their daily lives, such as televisions, smartphones, computers, and tablets.
To strengthen the business environment in the Manaus Free Trade Zone and enhance the performance of companies not only in the electronics segment but across all PIM sub-sectors, Suframa regularly visits and monitors manufacturing plants. The organization also engages with companies and industry associations, acting as a bridge to implement federal government policies aimed at modernizing and expanding the national industry.
It is expected that this semester’s indicators will remain positive and that the electronics sector — and PIM as a whole — will once again experience a period of impressive and growing figures in revenue, investment, and job creation.
