A more strategic look is needed for the recovery of our economy
The factors that cause this challenging scenario can be aggregated into two groups, namely external and internal. Regarding the first, the external economy, which was widely affected by the pandemic and now suffers from the consequences of the war between Russia and Ukraine, has presented high prices for inputs and much instability in logistics costs.
Regarding the second, at home, we also have our problems. Among them, high interest rates, inflation well above the average of the last few years, exchange rate instability, and other frightening indicators, such as unemployment and the drop in family income.
In this context, it is up to us to propose a more strategic look in order to rethink a new recovery for our economy. A look from the government for policies to stimulate consumption and measures focused on reducing the Brazil Cost are more than welcome, as well as the maintenance of best practices in macroeconomic management.
Our industry, which has been making every effort to maintain its operations, absorbing costs and keeping its jobs, strives so that we may have the recovery with the return to consumption.
Mother’s Day, celebrated in May, is a relevant date for our sector and marks the proximity of the second half of the year, which is seasonally the most important time for sales. We have, then, a great opportunity to turn this game around. Let it be now!
