The importance of partnerships for expanding collection points for electronics and home appliances
In the current scenario, proper management of electronic and home appliance waste is essential to promote sustainability and strengthen the circular economy. In 2022, the United Nations (UN) reported the disposal of 62 million tons of these products. In this context, strategic partnerships between management entities and retailers are essential to expand collection points, facilitating reverse logistics and benefiting the environment and public health.
The main advantage of these partnerships is the expansion of access to responsible disposal and increased environmental awareness. Installing collection points in strategic locations, such as retail stores, facilitates proper disposal by consumers, making the process more accessible. In addition, this initiative educates the public about the importance of correct disposal, reinforcing sustainable practices.
These partnerships also bring several other advantages, such as cost reduction for retailers, who avoid higher expenses by enabling reverse logistics independently. In addition, the partner entities guarantee the correct handling and transportation of waste, complying with the specific and complex requirements of these operations.
It is also worth noting that these initiatives also guarantee compliance with Federal Decree No. 10,240/20 and the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), ensuring that all links in the production cycle are aligned with current standards.
