Component shortages impact the environment
A survey conducted by Abrasa with various technical assistance service providers in the different regions of Brazil has identified a significant increase in the demand for repairs and maintenance of electrical and electronic products. In large part, this is due to the fact that the consumer often cannot afford to buy a new appliance.
In addition, another factor to be taken into account, as we have noticed lately, is the socio-environmental awareness, increasingly assimilated by the population. The lack of electronic components and their cost make budget approval unfeasible and contribute to the early scrapping of products, which is not good for the planet.
These problems could be alleviated with a planning of the spare parts inventory when the product is still on line, provided that they had the same handling as the items manufactured in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, which enjoy tax exemptions.
The fact that the replacement components are fully taxed, it impacts the maintenance of the appliances in the post-warranty period. This is a good time to analyze these issues. The after-sales technical assistance services for electronics and nature will thank you.
