RETAIL CENSUS REFLECTS POSITIVE SCENARIO FOR VAR AND COMMERCIAL AUTOMATION
Between 2021 and 2022, with the progressive return of in-person activities, the ICT Distribution channels in Brazil showed growth, mainly VAR (14%) and commercial automation (12%), but also volume resellers (9%) and sales representatives (8%). Another positive aspect was the increase in the opening of physical stores, especially from the second half of last year. Quite different from 2020, when 10% of resellers closed their doors permanently
The conclusions are part of the results of our Retailers Census 2022, an initiative in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Technology for Commerce and Services (AFRAC), conducted by IT Data. We interviewed 1,026 companies from the sector in the country with the objective of understanding how they operate, what are their business strategies, and their challenges. We surveyed the main indicators of the sales channels in the information technology, communication, and commercial automation markets
It is clear that meeting the infrastructure and service demands of companies with employees working from home office generated interesting opportunities for the resellers that were able to position themselves in this context. The results of the channels are a direct reflection of the results of the distributors.
The figures for 2022 reflect a maturing of this chain that includes industry, distributor and retailer, and map out the importance of the role of these three agents in the ICT distribution business in the market.
