ABREE
BRANDS WILL TAKE RESPONSIBLE ENVIRONMENTALLY ACTIONS IN THE NEXT YEARS
Brazil surpassed the mark of 3,100 receiving points to enable reverse logistics and the environmentally correct disposal of electrical and electronic products. Data from the Ministry of the Environment show that by 2019 the country had only 70 reception points, and only in 2021 would this total increase by almost 2,000 points. A GfK survey also reveals that 83% of Brazilians believe that brands should adopt environmentally responsible actions.
In practice, this represents an exponential expansion, since the population of 1,216 municipalities, 26 states and the DF (Federal District) now have suitable places to dispose of products that are no longer useful. ABREE has a big challenge, and expansion continues, as the greater the number of collection points, the greater the incentive for correct disposal.
Reverse logistics brings a series of benefits: it prevents inadequate disposal in landfills, preventing soil and water pollution, creates jobs for the population, allowing the development of new social and economic activities, and contributes to a reduction in consumption of raw materials.
Our role, as responsible citizens, is to spread the word and set an example so that we can contribute to the future of the next generations
