ABRADISTI: Digital transformation of the judicial system and its implications
The digital transformation has reached the Brazilian judicial system, promising to change a scenario of slowness and criticism. However, the digital journey is not homogeneous. This is a complex environment, both in terms of legislation and systems deployment.
The main consequences of computerization are speed and transparency. Moreover, for lawyers, offices and clients, the dynamism of the electronic process is extremely advantageous.
This development also affects the work of entities like Abradisti. In the recent favorable ruling on video card tax classification (GPUs), the digitization of the process in the final phase may have accelerated the decision.
The ease of following the process and petitioning electronically allowed Abradisti’s legal department to outline the best strategy. The process was conducted on paper from 2013 until the end of 2018. From the moment he entered the digital environment, it was two years until the enactment of the sentence.
There is, however, still much to adjust. The main one is the integration between the Federal, Labor and State Justice systems. One crucial point concerns process safety. Another is the difficulty of regions remote from the Country with structural issues. Public policies that favor the digitization of Justice are necessary. Otherwise, migration will never be national.
