The smartphone and wearable device segments are preparing for strong sales during this occasion. Smartphones remain essential in today’s world, while wearables have become valuable allies for well-being and fitness activities.

When comparing 2024 to 2023, the smartphone market remained stable, according to data from NIQ T&D/GfK. The study indicates that between Q4 2023 and Q3 2024, 26% of buyers had used their device for two years, and 27% said their device was three years old.
Smartphone manufacturers see Mother’s Day as an opportunity to achieve strong results. While some focus on high-end features, others cater to consumers looking for more affordable options without compromising quality.
Wearables experienced a 37% growth in sales volume in 2024 compared to the previous year, according to NIQ T&D/GfK. Wireless earbuds and smartwatches have become essential for fitness enthusiasts and a popular gift choice for mothers.

EXPECTATIONS
Technology sparks consumer desire. “We have observed a continuous increase in customer interest in the latest releases, especially during commemorative dates like Mother’s Day, and we expect this trend to continue,” says Cristiano Freitas, Mobility Business Director at Positivo Tecnologia.
For wearable devices, the approach is similar. Companies expect strong sales for smartwatches and wireless earbuds. “We are focused on further strengthening our presence in the Brazilian market, highlighting the premium quality and innovation of our products,” says Murillo Marques Neto, Product Manager at Huawei Consumer Business Brazil.

INFINIX

Technology and design are the company’s focus, according to Marcelo Daou, Head of Products at Motorola Brazil. “Consumers are looking for gifts that meet different technological needs while offering a stylish experience. This approach aligns perfectly with the spirit of the occasion,” he says.

The company is optimistic about Mother’s Day. “We are confident that we will surpass last year’s performance, driven by our continued investments in the Brazilian market, including the launch of innovative products and the strengthening of our retail partnerships,” says Ethan Xue, President at OPPO Latin America.

Realme’s goal for Mother’s Day is to continue expanding its presence in the Brazilian market, says Tanya Tang, Marketing Director at Realme. “We are focusing on products tailored to the needs of gift recipients on this occasion, considering both pricing and benefits such as excellent camera performance and large internal storage,” she explains.
The company highlights the Realme 13+ 5G, whose key features include a 5,000 mAh battery with 80 W fast charging, capable of reaching 50% battery in just 19 minutes, as well as 512 GB of internal storage. “It offers plenty of space to store videos and photos,” says Tang. The company plans to offer competitive deals for the device during key retail periods.
