Decline in demand for repair services
Despite all efforts and ABRASA’s work with its registered technical support services to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul recover equipment affected by the floods, data shows a significant drop of around 0.69% in the number of Service Orders approved for the third quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year. This decline led to a decrease in both volume and average ticket value.
This drop occurred due to the number of devices lost and unrecovered, the increase in demand for new product sales, and the decision not to repair older devices. The situation was further worsened by the climate changes recorded during the period.
However, research conducted by ABRASA indicates that this negative trend should reverse in the fourth quarter of 2024, although it won’t be enough to rebalance revenue. Thus, the market outlook for services this year remains lower compared to 2023.
For 2025, the outlook is positive, and ABRASA is working on developing new partnerships and implementing new projects in the management of a national electronics after-sales network. We are also working on integrating the circular economy into reverse logistics.
