REVERSE LOGISTICS: OUR MEMBERS CONTINUE TO EXCEED LEGAL TARGETS
Every year, Green Eletron sends a complete report to the Ministry of the Environment with the data on the collection of electronic devices from the previous year. Recently, the data for 2023 was sent.
According to the Sector Agreement, companies in the sector needed to ensure the correct disposal, during this period, of 6% of the weight inserted into the market in 2018 (base year). The target has been progressively increasing, bringing great challenges.
Thanks to the support of the population, who took the items to the PEVs (Voluntary Delivery Points), to the various campaigns carried out throughout the country and to the commitment of more than 100 associates, the entity sent more than 4.2 thousand tons for recycling, allowing the reuse of this entire volume and surpassing, once again, the target (which was 4 thousand tons).
The number of cities served has also grown, reaching more than 1,200 collectors in 305 municipalities, in all Brazilian states. The battery collection program also gained prominence, as we collected around 160 tons during the period, a very significant number.
In 2024, the work continues at full steam. After all, we know that the goal is to double that (12%). However, with joint efforts, I am certain that we will continue to achieve important results and contribute to increasing the country’s recycling rates.
