Manaus Free Trade Zone is boosted by new investments

The 306th Ordinary Meeting of the Board of Directors of Suframa (CAS), in October 2022, approved new and relevant investments for the Manaus Free Trade Zone, which will contribute to strengthening the business environment, consolidating the regional production chain and collaborating for significant actions generation of employment and income in the coming years.
In total, an agenda with 40 industrial and service projects was approved, 16 of which were for implementation and 24 for updating and diversification. The projects estimate BRL 1.38 billion in new investments for the ZFM, the generation of 1,589 jobs and an increase in revenues at the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM) of up to BRL 4.47 billion in three years.
It was the second official meeting of the CAS presided over by the special secretary of productivity and competitiveness of the Ministry of Economy, Alexandre Ywata, who thanked the partnership maintained in approximately four months of management with the business and productive class of the region. He reinforced the federal government’s commitment to strengthening the foundations of the ZFM and promoting socioeconomic and sustainable development in Amazon.
The meeting represented the second agenda with the highest volume of investments and job creation of the year. It was second only to meeting number 302, of a special nature due to the anniversary of Suframa and the ZFM model, when 41 industrial and service projects were approved, with BRL 2.3 billion in new investments and the forecast of creating 2,373 jobs.
CAS reached 177 industrial and service projects approved in five meetings held in 2022, with an estimate of around BRL 5.6 billion in new investments and more than 7.2 thousand new jobs in the regional production chain over the next few years.
